Fortified Procaine Penicillin Powder For Injection 4Mega

Composition:(Each vial contains:)

Procaine Penicillin…………3.0g (3,000,000 1U)

Benzylpenicillin Sodium......0.6g (1,000,000 IU)

Description:

White or almost white sterile powder.

Indications:

It has the same indications as penicillin. As its peak blood concentration is relatively low, it is only indicated in mild infections caused by penicillin-sensitive bacteria, such as tonsillitis,scarlet fever, erysipelas, furuncles and carbuncles. It is also effective for syphilis,Vincent's angina and gonorrhea.

Dosage and Administration:

It is given by I.M. injection only.

A suitable amount of water for injection is added into the vial before use. 500,000 IU-1,000,000 IU each time, once or twice a day.

Caution:

Before administration, skin tests of procaine and penicillin should be made. It should not be administrated to patients hypersensitive to penicillin and procaine.

Storage:

Kept in well-closed containers and stored in a dry place.

Shelf life:

3 years
