Name:  Imidacloprid and Moxidectin Spot-on Solutions(for Cats)
Compostion: Imidacloprid , Moxidectin
Character: This product is yellow to brown liquid.
Pharmacological effects antiparasite drug
Pharmacodynamics: Imidacloprid is a new generation of chlorinated nicotine insecticide, which affects the postsynaptic nicotinic acetylcholine in the central nervous system of insects.
Alkali receptors have high affinity and inhibit acetylcholine activity, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite. It is effective against adult fleas and juvenile fleas in all stages, and also has a killing effect on juvenile fleas in the environment. The mechanism of action of moxidectin is similar to that of avermectin and ivermectin. It has a good repellent effect on internal and external parasites, especially nematodes and arthropods. Its mechanism of anthelmintic action is to promote the neurotransmitter γ-amino acid. The release of butyrate (GABA) increases its binding force to postsynaptic receptors and opens chloride channels. Moxidectin also has selectivity and high affinity for glutamate-mediated chloride channels, thereby interfering with neuromuscular signal transmission, causing relaxation and paralysis of the worm, leading to death of the worm. Inhibitory interneurons and excitatory motor neurons in nematodes are its sites of action, while in arthropods the site of action is the neuromuscular junction. The two are used together to have a synergistic effect.
Pharmacokinetics: After the first dose, imidacloprid is rapidly distributed to the cat's body surface on the same day and remains on the cat's body surface between doses. 1 to 2 days after administration, the plasma concentration of moxidectin reaches its highest level in cats, and is distributed throughout the body and slowly metabolized and excreted within a month.
Indications For the prevention and treatment of internal and external parasitic infections in dogs. Prevention and treatment of flea infestations (Ctenophora felis), treatment of tick infestations (Trichopterus canis), treatment of ear mite infestations (T. auris), canine sarcoptic mange (Scabies) and demodicosis (Demodex canis) , treatment of Angiostrongylus and gastrointestinal nematode infections (adult worms, immature adults and L4 stage larvae of Toxocara canis, Ancylostoma canis and Ancylostoma canis; adults of Toxocara leonata and Trichocystis lepiensis), prevention of heart disease Filariasis (L3 and L4 stage larvae of Dirofilaria immitis), treatment of circulating microfilariae (Dirofilaria immitis). It can also assist in the treatment of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas.
